Artistic appreciation.

9 Mar

So.  I attended a Billy Talent (with special guests: Cancer Bats, Against Me and Alexisonfire) concert last night.  I have to say, Billy Talent put on one of the best shows I have ever seen.  They were incredibly high energy, played all their hits and looked to be having a great time!  (And they bowled at The Strike Zone the night before.  You can’t say anything bad about a band who bowls locally.)  However, there was one portion of this concert that stood out above most:

There you see Ian D’Sa (the guy with the bitchin’ hair) enjoying Against Me.  I have been to a number of concerts and have never seen the bands just chill on the sidelines, appreciating their touring mates.

This struck me as really decent and just cool.

Hats off to Billy Talent and the rest of the fellahs playing last night, they rocked PG hard.

You’ve NEVER seen that before? I think I’ve seen that at at least… four or five concerts I’ve been to, but they were all in larger venues, i.e. Metallica, Ozzfest, etc.

Glad to read that you had fun though!

Nah. I’m not actually terribly observant. I am usually 100% memorized by the performance on stage. Thankfully, for blogish purposes, I don’t really dig Cancer Bats, Against Me, or Alexisonfire (although Dallas Green has my full attention) – I don’t hate any of them, they just ain’t my scene, y0.

I did suspect that this wasn’t an isolated incident. I just felt that it should be noted as particularly awesome. In general. Artists enjoying other artists is boss.

And damnit, that guy just has awesome hair, okay? XD
